Be not anxious for today,
Learn to trust and obey.
He clothes the lilies of the field,
He wants to be our sun and shield.
His promises are tried and true,
Claim each one, He'll see you through.

My grandmother, a devout Christian, wrote many poems in the 1980s and 1990s. I wanted to preserve them for family members and whoever else was interested in them. She was a fierce prayer-warrior. She had 2 sons and 2 daughters, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She wrote some poems to different friends, children, and grandchildren as well. I can still her hear her say, "Bless your little heart." She went to be with her Lord in October 1999.
Be not anxious for today,
Learn to trust and obey.
He clothes the lilies of the field,
He wants to be our sun and shield.
His promises are tried and true,
Claim each one, He'll see you through.

The fields are white, the trees are bare,
But the spirit of Christmas in in the air.
The Lord Jesus Christ was born this day,
Many years ago, in a manger of hay.
He came to give men a spiritual birth,
To willing hearts who live here on earth.
He gave His life, of Him we sing,
He soon will return to be our King.
