My grandmother, a devout Christian, wrote many poems in the 1980s and 1990s. I wanted to preserve them for family members and whoever else was interested in them. She was a fierce prayer-warrior. She had 2 sons and 2 daughters, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She wrote some poems to different friends, children, and grandchildren as well. I can still her hear her say, "Bless your little heart." She went to be with her Lord in October 1999.

Stunt its growth, prune my pride, Arrogance and boasting cannot abide.
Love is humble as Thou art, May I ever have a part.
Set me free from self-promotion, Honoring Thee in my devotion.
