Self

In my flesh there is no good thing,
Only to Your righteousness would I cling.

Keep me as the apple of Your eye,
Help me fully on you to rely.

Doing the things You want me to do,
Being and keeping rightly related to You.

Our Walk

When Jesus comes in, He gives new life,
As we walk with Him, we are free of strife.
Each step with Him in Holy union,
Becomes a happy time of sweet communion.

But if our hearts harbor iniquities,
The Lord will no hear our pleas.
If we search our hearts and confess,
He will cleanse and He will bless.

When His still small voice we hear,
We know then that God is near.
Then the warmth of His love and grace imparts,
Healing and strength to our needy hearts.

A Prayer for My Granddaughter and Her Husband

Dear Lord, guide them in your loving care,
Help them to know you are there.

Ready to hear their faintest call,
Waiting to be their all in all.

May they seek You diligently,
You'll give them life more abundantly.

Thank you, Lord for sending Your Son,
Thank you, Lord for all you've done.

Amen.

Renew My Mind

Lord, help me to discern Satan and his lies,
To resist him and on the Holy Spirit rely.

As he tries to deceive and with evil bind,
May You keep my thoughts and mind.

Guide and direct all my life,
Free me from mental and spiritual strife.

I know the responsibility is mine to take,
Also the choice is mine to make.

Not blaming things on Satan and You,
For all my thoughts or things I do.

Thank you, Lord, for transforming me,
Renewing my mind and setting me free.

The Last Days

Hold fast the Word of Life, in this dark hour,
The time is short, reprove, exhort.

To convict the world of sin,
to open up their hearts and let the savior in.

Lift up feeble hands and knees and onward to the fray,
Lift high the banner of the cross as you weep and watch and pray.

Some will be saved through fear, some will be saved by love,
Let us draw near and seek wisdom from above.

God's Family

God's family is the very best,
Wherever you go, east or west.

It's always good to get the news,
Of Christian friends and their views.

Prayers and love keep us close together,
Many years in all kinds of weather.

May we continue to communicate,
To share, to care, and to relate.

All the joys and sorrows that come our way,
'Til we all meet in heaven some great day.

Witnessing

Lord, it's Your work, Your responsibility,
May I be available, and use every opportunity,
To be bold and to proclaim just what's needed,
And I pray it may be accepted and heeded.

Help me to learn the gift of "loving tough",
And also to know how to have that loving touch.

Some need the one, some the other,
We need to reach out to our brother.
Sharing Your Word and Your love,
Giving hope and assurance of a Kingdom above.

The Loss of a Loved One

Your loved one is in God's hands,
He alone knows wherein she stands.

We know He does all things right,
We are all precious in His sight.

He lovingly cares when He sees your tears,
He will come close to you and calm your fears.

As you yield your life, your will, and all,
He will hear and answer your fainted call.

He'll give you comfort and constant peace,
He'll give you grace and sweet release.

Lean hard upon Him, every day,
As you learn to wait and watch and pray.

To Missionaries in Japan

Bless Kim and Nora Gay,
Bless their work in Hi-BA.

Help them in their language study,
Keep them true and ever ready.

With Thy Word the youth inspire,
Give the leaders they require.

Bless their two precious little girls,
Keep them safe from all perils.

Save the precious Japanese,
This I pray on bended knees.

Amen

Following the Call

Lord you planted me in Rochester, New Hampshire.
You have led me in your plan and put me in Portland.
You have given me friends, on whom I can depend.
You fellowship with me, and give me victory.
You have taught me to pray and to show others the way.
As I press toward the goal, make me every whit whole.
As I wait upon thee, cleanse, fill, and use me.

He Goeth Before

Father, You called me, I heard Your voice.
You said, "Follow me." I said, "I'll go, it's my choice."
Father you said to me, "I'll go with you,
I'll give you peace and contentment, too.
I'll go before and prepare the way.
Through you, I'll teach others to pray."
I heard your voice and your call,
I dedicated myself and yielded my all.
Praise You, Lord for what you've done,
Bless our dear prayer group, every one.Marjorie Searles

Claim the promises in the Book
Anchor your soul to the Rock.
He'll answer all your pleas,
And solve all your problems with ease.

He'll change people and conditions,
He is watching for all your petitions.

All Things

To those who love their Lord,
He works out everything for their good.
We must not be anxious or fret,
For He has never left us yet.

He loves us unconditionally.
He wants to sanctify us totally.
Trials are sent from heaven above,
They're never greater than His love.

He has called us and He will keep,
All who ask and knock and seek.
Every trial and blessing He sends,
Are to prove to us we are his friends.

Teach Me to Pray

Teach me to pray, Lord,
Just talking with You,
Telling You my thoughts,
And everything that's new.

I'm only human,
You are so strong.
I want to go your way,
not the wrong.

Help me in my weakness,
I need Your strength today,
Humbly I bow to You and pray.

Thank you Lord, for saving me.
I'm so glad to be in your family!

Praise thee Lord! Amen.

World Evangelism

The harvest is plenteous, the laborers few,
Unevangelized millions need to hear the "good news".

"Other sheep I have not of this fold,
I must bring" - we must reach souls.

We must love, pray, go, and give,
So that others, too, may know and live.

My Prayer

Lord Jesus, I yield to thee.
May Your beauty be reflected in me,
To help others see the light,
As I walk in Your power and might.
Dwelling in a house of clay,
Shine through me from day to day.

Fill me with Your Holy Spirit's power,
As I wait on Thee, this hour,
Cleanse my heart and set me free
Of everything that is unlike Thee,
So You can bless and use me now,
This I ask, as I humbly bow.

Praise Thee Lord, for giving us Your Word,
Praise Thee too, for shedding your blood.
Thank you Lord, for salvation so free,
I will praise You throughout eternity.

The bruised reed You will not break,
Nor quench smoking flax for Your Name's sake.
Because Your compassion is so strong,
I worship You in praise and song.

To My Dear Friend Hattie on her 96th Birthday

Dear Hattie,

Just a note to let you know, how nice it is to be with you.

On this your celebration day, on this your 96th birthday,
Praise the Lord for what He's done, giving you strength in His dear Son.

He has brought you from your youth,
He will guide you 'til your death.

He has brought you to your hoar hair,
He has used you to help others to care.

He will never forsake you.
He will use you and make you a strength and a power to everyone to come.
You'll have many spiritual children in the Kingdom,
As you wait and watch and pray,
May God bless you good, on your birthday!

Lovingly, Marge

Nervous Christians

Don't be discouraged and depressed,
Look up to Jesus and be blest.
Just rest in HIm, He loves you so,
He will never, never, let you go.

He'll forgive your sins and set you free,
He'll deliver you from your misery.
Look up and praise and thank Him too,
For all the good things He has done for you.

The Living Word

Thy Word is living and powerful, Lord.
May we put it on as a mighty sword.
To convict men that they are lost in sin,
To open their hearts' doors and let You in.

Thy Word is alive and full of power,
May each of your children be a sower.
Planting the seed in prepared soil,
Depriving Satan of his spoil.

As we go and give and weep,
May we a bountiful harvest reap.
Jesus is returning very soon,
May we hear His Words "well done".

Lord, You are so wonderful to know,
You are my helper wherever I go.
I trust in you and daily yield,
You become my strength and shield.

Gladly my praises to you bring.

unto Him my life I yield.

As I trust in Him and watch and pray.

Joseph

Joseph was a gentle man,
Chosen by God according to His plan.

He was humble, just, and kind,
A man that is very hard to find.

Mary was especially blest,
For a good husband, the very best!

He taught Jesus his carpentering,
As he patiently worked at his parenting.

Harvest Time

The harvest is ripe, the laborers few,
Many sould in despair, what can we do?
We can go, give, and pray,
The Lord will show us the way.
The seed must be sown
In hearts who've never known.
Let us be faithful, doing our part,
To get God's Word into every heart.
Starving people must be fed,
Oh Lord, give them their daily bread.

A New Year's Prayer

May I give my utmost for Your highest,
Strengthened with might in the inner man,
To prevail in prayers for others, according you Your plan.
Father, fill me with your power,
As I wait on Thee this hour.
Cleanse my heart, forgive me, Lord.
I claim the promises in Your Word.
Holy Spirit, I yield to Thee,
Magnify Christ in me.

Fill me with HIs love and peace,
That others through me, might find release.
From trials and heartaches that bruise and break.
Make me a blessing, for Jesus' sake.
To abide in Thee, as Thou in me,
This is my prayer and plea.
Hear me, Father, this New Year's Day,
For it's in Jesus Name, I pray.
